Abstract
There have been on consensus on the histologic criteria for differentiation of hyperplasia, atypical hyperplasia(AH), Ca in Situ(CIS), and sometimes interobserver disagreement for those lesions.
In early detection of breast ca film / screen mammography is still main diagnostic method and other breast imagings including ultrasonoghaphy, dynamic contrast enhanced MRI, PET with FDG etc might be subsidiary.
But screening mammograms can miss 10 to 30% of women with breast Ca.
So biopsy is essential for cancer diagnosis in women with suspicious palpable masses.
Minimally invasive procedures such as FINC, TCNB become popular among biopsy methods and TCNB has many merits than FNAC in breast biopsy.
Furthermore automated biopsy gun was developed lately and it has much more conviences in use than conventional Tru-cut needle.
Wa had practiced TCNB in 180 cases of patients from Jan 91 to Des 92.
The results ;
B : M ratio was 7.5 : 1
Diagnostic accuracy : false positive 0%, false negative 1.72% sensitivity 96%, accuracy 98.8%.
